New Jersey says no to 50cc scoots

I may work in New York City, go to school there, hang out with my friends there, and indeed belong to a NYC based scooter club, but NONE of that changes the fact that I am born and bred a Jersey boy. I grew up in Bayonne, NJ only 6 miles from Manhattan, and I still live there today. So it burns my britches when I read that NJ decided to disallow the registration and use of 50cc bikes. This was done in an attempt to stop the use of pocket bikes that kids are buying and using dangerously in the streets. However it was obviously done in haste, with improper knowledge of what defines a pocket bike verses what defines a "limited use motorcycle" as NY state calls 50cc bikes.

Read about it here.
